Well speaking as someone just out of hospital myself I hope your other half makes it home safely.  I am still on Tramadol nights which at least help you sleep through the wuthering outside!

Thanks, surely he can't be much longer!and he has to go straight to bed when he comes in.Not sure how to write that without it sounding rude.Oh while i was writing that the ambulance called and said it'll be here in about twenty minutes with him.

The wind picked up a wee bit. Unfortunately, the anemoneteramenoneter, twirly wind thing doesn't seem to be connecting to my glorified alarm clock Oregon weather gadget. Not raining either. The vodka stream is flowing well, though is not yet threatening to burst its banks.

My son cooked his Valentine a meal here tonight. Scampi and chips may seem a breeze (ha!) to us, but seeing him try to peel a potato was excruciating. Scary new generation, though I'm sure my parents said the same thing.

Ha ha I understand.  I've had eleven operations in four years and it's always so appreciated to have someone there for you when you get back in. I am sure it speeds up the healing process.

Me too ,I am trying to be patient but I'm reading so many reports of high gusts /torrential rain etc I'm starting to think the South Downs are sheltering me

this is a fairly slow moving storm. the wind speeds are building slowly from west to east. cornwall is recording gusts over 70mph, dorset is into the 60's at the moment, hampshire high 50's and the sussex coast is still only in the 30's.

be patient.... its coming your way....

(i'd love to be in the pub on the middle of the pier tonight, if its still there that is!)

Where is all this wind then?

It got pretty fierce when that squall line went over, probably 50mph or so, my station read 24mph but it reads really really light at 2m behind a fence.

Nothing now though!

XCWeather currently shows a measly 29mph observation at Southend!

I had the worst drive home over an hour ago, I had to stop the car the rain came down so hard I have never seen it so bad, I couldn't see in front of the car. It really frightened me :( glad to be home safe with a glass of vino in my hand...needed it!

Lovely to pop in here and see a bit of humour - as one of a nervous disposition not looking forward to tonight - going to shut the curtains and turn the tv volume up loud so I don't hear all noises - Times like this I wish I drank - hitting the old fashioned lemonade but can't stay its helping :)
