I agree, tiles flickering and lights rattling here it seems right now, that really is quite some wind.

My parents are booked on a cruise on the Marco Polo to Norway on Sunday. So the ship seems to have had  just the one day turnaround schedule to meet tomorrow at Tilbury.

I reckon they will take longer than one day to clean up the mess that ship must be in. I remember the state of the loos on the cross channel ferries in just a Force 9 wind. Awash with puke.

One helluva gust just as a jet going over to heathrow. Know they are big things, but that must be getting buffeted. Areas of this bungalow creaking that haven't creaked in the 8years I've been here!!

Very dry and mild.

… not sure why planes are still flying into Gatwick ..

Maybe because it’s an airport….. but that's not important right now Posted Image

Seriously though it might just be the best option to get everything on the ground asap !

'kinellI'm not prone to exaggeration but it's really quite lively here and, despite my love of extremes, I'd be happier if the wind calmed down a tad.AS

I'm with you on that AS. The Met Office sites at Northolt and Heathrow seem to be struggling at the moment. Northolt hasn't reported for the last 2 hours and the Heathrow site seems to have gone offline altogether.

Being as we have overhead electrics here, I am surprised - no flickering and no loss of power this winter.

The windows will need to be replaced, The Marco Polo's AIS seems to be off at the moment and I'm *guessing* she will head to the nearest port (France) for now.
