Quite wild here, but nothing unexpected tbh. Winds gusting mid fifties locally.

Depends on where those weather stations are, I'm at the top of a hill and about half an hour ago had a gust which must have topped 60mph and the average wind is really building now it's becoming more constant. The way this is building and building reminds me of October 2000 let's hope 2am dosn't get that frightening otherwise I'm going to start looking for some clean underwear!

hi mate

dont get me wrong

80 mph winds are pretty scarey and not to be ignored

may get worse

may not

either way not much we can do now but watch

wind is shaking house here as well

and i am quite shielded from the wind normally

Already gusting 56mph at Heathrow mate :(Anyone notice also how dry and warm the air and wind is...

Yes, Surrey...I've had to turn heating off because I feel stifled and it feels very stuffy, not that cold out either.

yes, just been outside while we had a power cut for about 20 mins or so. (lights still flickering) not cold at all. now i'm not one to get all melodramatic about the weather, the xmas storm was pretty hefty round here, (some scary gusts occurred, one of which was the trigger for the 24hour power outage we had) but this one is up there with that storm already!!

Wow! It began with frisky squalls just before 6pm here, they continued on & off for the next 3 hours or so. Since just before 10pm the wind has picked up & sustained at what sounds like quite a speed. Certainly topping 'the charts' for most energetic storm this winter up here in the Chilterns.

Ok scary my bedroom windows which are double glazed are rumbling and creaking now and thought I just heard a tree crashing over in the road behind us, the peak will be around midnight to 2am I reckon.

At home in Hampton, just had strongest gust of evening a second ago - house strongly buffeted - would not want to be landing on a plane at Heathrow - stay safe everyone - I must say I love the sound a storm makes. Must take the top off the Irish Mist hiding at the back of the cupboard !

Winds really picking up here, those planes are well off course, just seen the pilot out of the window....
