Back to gusting Force 12 and lights flickering again. Not done that since '85. Oh dear, just sounded like a tile sliding down the roof, they are really heavy ones too! Must tell family not to go out until morning.

Last 30 minutes has really ramped up a notch in SE Essex, Gusts upto 50-60mph now quite easily.

QE2 Closed at 9pm I think and will re-open tomorrow some time, anyone in the area A127 At Rayleigh Weir completely closed off due to it resembling a lake in the 2 lanes London Bound.

Picked up here quite a bit in the last 20 minutes or so.

Not liking the look of this chart at all to be honest.

Its really starting to kick off, Wind guts picking up now. We are a couple of hours away from the strongest gusts, Which will last a while through the early hours. UK power network apparently claiming power outages for our region possible. Stay safe all.

Room feels as though we have air conditioning

Windows are closed

We have those stupid plastic vent things in the windows.

Note to self there gone in the morning

Didn't realise how much cold that comes in until it's that windy

This is definitely the loudest winds heard this winter, feeling a bit worried about if it gets worse, not sure those on littlehampton seafront/riverside are liking this,

Edit - blimey the house shook on that gust.

Ok Just seen the first wave get onto the road on the Bognor webcam.. that's really impressive it's very difficult to get waves *over* shingle banks.

Like everywhere else, the gusts are increasing in frequency and intensity here. Have heard bins flying about and just let dog out into the garden for a constitutional and heard a loud bang.Too dark to see what it was. Suspect things will be in a real mess in the morning. One thing in our favour is that it is not raining hard at the moment.
