Unbelievable, There are some really sick people in this world "Bloody" oxygen thief.

Hampshire Police: people in Portsmouth recieving hoax phone calls from man claiming to be from flood helpline asking them to leave homes

https://twitter.com/search?q=hampshire%20police&src=typd

I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad makes my blood boil. How do people even come up with these ideas? I would never dream of it in a million years!

OK it's WAY worse outside than it sounds.

Just took the dogs out and they nearly took off.

Must be the direction of the wind making it sound as if it's not blowing a gale, but it most certainly is now here anyway.

Max Gust now at 57 Mph here in Shoreham

Southampton now gusting Force 11. 59.3 knots or 69mph

http://www.sotonmet.co.uk/%28S%28ddecbdnkaec3wq55zf4ase45%29%29/default.aspx

And CHIMET not far behind with Force 11 58.2 knots or 67mph

http://www.chimet.co.uk/%28S%281x450fexmzkdow45oofidbik%29%29/Default.aspx

Please! I don't want it to get worse than a force 11. Not when we have 4 hours until the worst is supposed to be here anyway. Perhaps it is coming through earlier? Hopefully.

Ok windows starting to rattle now and I can hear the gusts coming about 10 seconds before they arrive it's mental, easily on a par with pre Xmas Eve already if not slightly worse and definitely worse then St Jude, and to think this thing isn't supposed to peak until at least midnight I wouldn't be at all surprised if somewhere offshore gets 80mph.

and here's a good live station if you want to see some high numbers, the graph as given up

http://www.nci-prawlepoint.org.uk/weather.htm

Graph back but a constant force 12!!!

74 knots constant wind shown. That is 85 mph mean speed. WOW! As you say Hurricane force.

Where is Prawle Point though? Cornwall?

Certainly blowing in dirty Dartford, not a good day for Thames water decide too change the fire hydrant outside your gate, leaving a very big hole surrounded by barriers which have just disappeared down the road leaving an unprotected hole, perhaps our netweather legal guru could tell me the going rate for falling down an ole?

Looking at all the post with dog references, I'm doing my first ever dog sitting weekend for my brother who is glamping in Hampshire this weekend. I've got my eye on raintoday wondering when to do the evening walk - a first for me. Might venture into Purley and check out the underpass. Wonder if the dog will join me:)

From Google

Prawle Point is a coastal headland in south Devon, England It is the southernmost point of Devon. Access is from the village of East Prawle along a single-track road, at the end of which a National Trust car park is present.

Agreed, this is epic in terms of wind speeds. Lights are like a disco here at the mo, haven't lost power though.

It still doesn't seem worse than 23rd Dec though

Some gusts are arriving here now. Still dry though (excluding the vodka, and shortly the red wine) mind.
