Too early to beef about the lack of wind Bovril. Give it a few hours and it will have beefed up and will stir people from their slumber, if they aren't spooning on Valentine's Day still that is.

Beef and Bovril, I see what you did there :D

Having taken stock of the situation there seemed little else to do.  The south certainly in hot water tonight.

Not quite the winter I had in mind this one Steve....Don't think anyone expected anything like this 11 weeks ago...Bloody appalling.

Well a squally shower passed through about half hour ago- rain was lashing down. Wind seems to have cranked up a notch now with frequent gusts (not sure of speed-need to invest in a weather station!!) thinking tonight could just about finish off the last of the fence which is still standing...

"Here we go lights dimming" .Gust's really punching through. Oh well guess that's the price for having a garden that backs onto fields and the M1.

"hi tom

back home now but i bet the wind is really going for it there now

probably be interesting tomorrow morning as well by the look of the charts above",

Hi jp,

Blowing pretty hard outside the office, here on the posh side of Croydon! Posted Image

Wind coming through the vent, sounds like someone playing a Kalamazoo! Who'd think you could get such a sound on a wage slip envelope?

Tom.

Squall went through though it seemed like a heavy rain only event. Since the rain calmed down though it's got noticeably windier.

I love Sky News with it's many reporters around the country who are either being blown over or blocking the road with there cameras and saying the same thing over and over againPosted Image

It's pouring here and the wind is very gusty but only when the rain bands come through, temperature is around 8.6c at the moment and the pressure is still falling.

I thought Brighton was suppose to get it in the nuts with this storm?

Me too ,I am trying to be patient but I'm reading so many reports of high gusts /torrential rain etc I'm starting to think the South Downs are sheltering me

Too bad JJ it's all gone.

It's quite surprising how warm I am now after dinner, and a few glasses of wine.  Positively glowing now. Posted Image

Totally prepared for this weather now.

Well speaking as someone just out of hospital myself I hope your other half makes it home safely.  I am still on Tramadol nights which at least help you sleep through the wuthering outside!
