In summary it was all a fuss about nowt special in these parts... shoot me down if ya like but its true nothing here worse than the last worse storm.

 

I'd say it's the worst here since Jan '07, and that storm killed several people.

 

Still, it's an ill wind and all that, and I got 4 wheelbarrowsful of logs from the tree that came down on my street.

Still very strong gusts here - but should be calming down over the next hour or so.

 

Could see some wet snow tomorrow. Certainly a chilly wintry outlook for Cumbria.

Just driven back from South Liverpool, saw 3 trees down, all kinds of debris flying all over the gaff. The journey there was nasty couldn't drive above 28/30mph as the wind was taking the car, especially over the Queens Drive flyover. Local radio where making bulletins very often about road closures in Liverpool, a lamp post was down on a car on Smithdown Rd, Kirkdale several roads where closed. My lights where flickering like crazy round about 6.30/7pm went off for a minute or so but seemed to be ok since. Still gusting out there but not as severe as it was earlier........................if any one in my area is in possession of a green tarpaulin BBQ cover, it's mine
