Blowing like mad in west kirby sp, you must be in a sheltered spot in Heswall

Yes there are evergreen trees to the SW, our worst winds usually occur in westerly winds as were exposed in that direction, and it's not quite been westerly today. I imagine Lower Heswall would have been hit very badly as its nothing but estuary to the SW.

The mayor of Liverpool has just said that the city is helping out stranded crystal palace fans with accommodation etc that makes me proud to live here-can't see the same happening for Man U and Liverpool fans trapped down south!

Considerably quieter out there now, mean windspeeds down to 5mph here and the odd 30mph gust in association with a few showers, other than that i'm looking forward to a quiet night and see what damage is around in the early morning.
