Here we seems to have actually avoided it, I only recorded a gust of 44mph.

Bloody hell, got no measurement but sure I must have had a 60mph gust at the least.

Lets hope that this isn't the last we have seen of severe weather this winter, except lets hope the next bout is of a different kind.

Some people in South Cumbria and Lancs lost power. I don't know how many though. I only turned it over. BBC had said it.

Thanks - we are fine. Will ring the insurance tomorrow - which no doubt will take a while cos the phone lines will be jammed. Hubby is going to take a day off to put something temp in its place.

Hope everyone is ok

It's past it's guarantee Mia - so fingers crossed it will be covered on our house insurance.

Just been looking at the Crewe community page on Facebook. Some crazy reports on there from today's storm. Chimneys blown down and tiles have been flying across one of the main roads out of the town. Numerous trees down aswell. Spoke to my mum and she said she saw about 7 trees down blocking roads on her way home....took her 2 hours to make it back in what should have been a 30 minute journey. Crazy.
