Unfortunately temps to warm for the weather we want to see and just going to see more of the same old stuff we have been sick of for the last 3 months

Wind is really starting to pick up now, just had a 50mph gust, which is stronger than I was expecting at this point.

Various charts showed by 10am only 29mph gusts. This is already stronger than the previous storm, but then I'm not sheltered from Southerlies/Southeasterlies.

Center of the low appears to be just off the s/w Coast of Ireland wouldn't be suprised to see wind gusts close to what we had on Wednesday post-16288-0-53975600-1392375951_thumb.j

I know we all like snow but we have to acknowledge that the lack of  airfrosts this Winter is quite frankly amazing.. some of us have only a few, and some have even had none at all.

Is it me or do we seem to be getting the winds that were meant to be down south as they are saying on there threads that it's not that windy ?

I think the southerly just allows for more funnelling, which will give Merseyside some big gusts, but I dont think we've taken their storm, I think it's exactly as planned. The biggest gusts down south are not due til much later anyway.

Guess what ?????? Its rai ing

Not here in the land of the Foehn!

Not everywhere is getting 50mph gusts, the average seems to be about 25mph, but Im on a hill with absolutely nothing for miles to the southeast, and often this type of events hit us more than other places. In exposure (which is how winds should be measured anyway), it's 'kicking off'

Its absolutly freezing in Chorley. The wind chill is prob around -2 to -4c. I went out and about and my hands feels like a block of ice.
