Looking at current Charts, It looks like next week very wet at times with one or two waves prolonging some of the rain and with a large Siberian high slowing the progress of the low pressures that look to hit us, BUT, after this rain there is the potential one or two cold spells last a day or two (at this stage). After this it does look like drier periods will be on offer for longer as opposed to a day here and there. There may be minor unsettled moments but generally no where near as bad as we have seen for the last 3 months and the Jet weakening and buckling allowing for settled weather at times.

Let the Clean up begin and flood waters recede for those people affected by recent torrents of water.

The worst is now over (bar next week) for the foreseeable future.

About time to.

Quite a potent shower moving through Yatton at the moment, a real slushy mess with periods of hail, rain and sleet.

I have not been paying attention last few days but as I left for work this morning there was a slushy deposit on my car windscreen not sure when it fell though.

Those damn pigeons again Posted Image

They go well in a stew, those rats with wings and that'd save them from bullying all the other birds out of nesting sites and at bird tables. I see almost as many of them in Summer as I once did in Winter. Nevermind, I've now strayed off topic Posted Image but I just wanted to let you know I'm still here alive and lurking. Posted Image I denote a change in the weather might be forthcoming after next week with a bit of luck, more on that shortly. Posted Image

Yesterday was full of blue skies and then murky grey clouds chucking it down on and off most of the day.

First shower was a hail/sleet and then rain combo, then after that some extremely heavy rain showers.

There were some impressive dark clouds too.

I've escaped to the midlands for a few days so hopefully I miss any unwanted wind down south :)

Please have a read on my thoughts for next week and into the first month of Meteorological Spring, will it be wet, windy and zonal or will it be cold and snowy or even dry? Find out more below. Posted Image Posted Image

Weather Alert ; Warminster has had a completely dry day!

Only the 11th dry day out of the last 71 days!! That's since the Atlantic onslaught began on Friday 13th December!

Darren Bett actually mentioned the possibility of some settled weather after next weekend on the countryfile forecast. Posted Image

Will this wind ever stop, very blustery for the last 36 hours or so and the near constant blowing down the chimney is really getting on my nerves. Overcast today after yesterday's sun so it seems impossible to get to nice days in a row...

What a gorgeous day! I usually despise warmth in winter, but after the past few months I welcome it.

Finally a front moved across without strengthening and I was able to work through it while only getting damp in a hour of drizzle! Bright either side of it and with daylight before 07.00 it was interesting to watch the front arrive and depart as well, meaning good viewing of all the cloud types associated with a Cold Front.

Lovely sunny spells afternoon now, fresh but pleasant at 12.2c and towels drying on the line!

A couple of eights of small Cu.

Temp 7.6C

Wind SW 14 mph

Not much change during the week. Mainly westerly flow with showers interspersed with longer outbreaks and quite mild. No cold or snow which is one blessing.
