It's truly horrendous here. The gusts seem to go on for ever, never ending. Really not sure what Soton' will look like tomorrow, these winds are epic.

It'll look like Portsmouth. :D

We've got friends over on Brownsea Island who live in a Cottage right on the Quay side. They're away at the moment but surely their place is flooded?. Hope to God it isn't.

flipping nora

She should never have gone out in this wind.

Feels like this is the worst we've had. 2 big squall downpours earlier and now relentless gusts.

Think it'll be Sandbanks Island now.

Poole Harbour weather station reading top gust of 76 mph.

I've decided not to venture out tonight, that's how bad it is down here, I rally can't remember hearing wind this loud before.

Roof aerial gone, to add to the roof damage sustained from the 23rd Dec storm, really really cheesed off with ths 'winter'. Expect the rest of next doors fence to be gone by morning too!

Just got in to find my weather station recorded a gust of 69.8 mph!!! At around 1920hrs

It's a wild one out there still, gusts are around 45- 55mph with the odd one hitting 60+

What some sick people will think of...

"reports from Hampshire Constabulary that people in Portsmouth are receving hoax calls from a man claiming to be from a flood helpline -and urging them to leave their homes."

This is mad! We are well inland too - I dread to think what it's like for you all on the South Coast. Winds are scary loud here.

what the hell happened just then it went proper mad..sounded like a train coming through....

I get the feeling now that Mother Nature is very angry with us.

Can seriously feel the house vibrating and these gusts are lasting far too longFor my liking

They aren't gusts any more South Coaster..they are sustained. I just cant get over how windy it is so far inland in flipping Newbury. It is bonkers.

Its the worst this winter, my conservatory is creaking under the strain of the gusts, that has not happened in the previous storms, very very loud!
