Worrying for next week, not so sure it will be much of an improvement, to be honest

For Monday's chart, it showed a slow moving band of rain coming in from the west (over areas, that don't need anymore)

A deeper system, may have moved the rain through faster. Slow moving bands of rain, will be just as serious

Any guesses on tomorrow? Supposed to be taking my kids to alton towers, some sites saying heavy rain/windy, others saying v. Light rain, no idea what to do!

Plymouth mean wind speed 60mph (Force 10 Storm) at 18:00

Likely to be repeated over Devon/Dorset in the next few hours.

LadyEv06 - I'm guessing heavy showers and breezy tomorrow, but not like today

Meaning ?Running exactly as predicted - South East not expected to get the real winds until later. Gusts here as bad as Wednesday at the moment and certainly NOT a breeze.

if its slow moving say less than 5km it can stall in one area then slowly disapate

Evening all

Getting very windy here now. I've just read on another forum that there's been a gust recently recorded at Ushant Lighthouse (not too far away from us) of 82knts (94mph)

The SW will be the worst affected by the 'final' major battering of the Winter, although not the worst storm in that area. Places inland might see this storm stronger than any other this Winter.

The emergency services have just gone out and lights are flickering, doesn't bode well.

I'm looking forward to the pub though.

Stay safe mate, i have to say its howling out there, just been out for a check and i can hear lots of stuff banging around. The local morrisons here is being rebuilt, the old building is halfway through being demolished, can see some damage occuring there to be honest. I'm not liking this at the mo....everyone please be careful!
