Really quiet in Newcastle! Bit breezy!

Totally calm @ 955mb. No issues up here today, or since a long time. Crazy WX few hundred miles south though! Looks like another bomb incoming for the SW approaches. Relentless down there.

Quiet in Hartlepool too, other areas said it went quiet before the stronger winds hit

70+mph going by the charts but then again nothing is set in stone - I can't post the chart on here bud but if you pop over to the Far North Of England thread you can view the predicted wind speeds but be aware they are in KPM not MPH on that chart..

why?

It appears to follow a reasonable sequence if you go back a bit?

That will be the heaviest precipitation (reds and whites) but it does have a squall like look about it once again.

Wind dropping in Leeds as pressure rises. Still the odd 50mph gust. Strongest was 60mph at about 6pm, well before the supposed strongest winds were due (9pm)

Sat here in peace and quiet, tv turned off kids in bed women slung to work and the dog watered and fed and now snoring on the couch! all i can hear is the dogs encloser been battered/destroyed by the wind dog tin bowls bouncing round the garden and every now then a screaming whistle coming from the window vent (spooky) and a constant buffeting wind come down the chimney.

Bliss.
