from another forum

Wind has died down a little in Devon atm. However, just had the garden turn white in seconds from an unexpected hail storm, followed by a huge flash of lightening and simultaneous giant (in a house shock 'wtf',cover your ears) bang of bloody thunder.Only one lot though!

Stoke, Crewe, Macclesfield stations now shut due to fallen lines

I think West Coast Mainline should be closed North of Crewe nothing mind Preston. It is bad enough here.

Sirens?? What sirens

I can hear sirens where i live, we arent far from the M6 motorway links....must be something going on somewhere. We also live right in front of a fire station, its scary as their tower is almost a garden feature for us lol hope that stays up!

Lettuce boring weather, this is not a patch on snow but still better than summer sun, went out to get a meal you don't have to cook in case and had to dodge flying branches and allsorts.

Peak still between 7 and 9?

About an hour or so time but still damaging gusts possible an hour after that.

51mph now in Buxton, lights flicking and sound outside is pretty horrendous even outside of the strongest windfield area.
