Cold rain here at the moment.

Looks like some laying snow already on the Lakes fells, and some of the hills to the east of the M6. Expect these areas to get more snow this afternoon and overnight.

The forecast for tomorrow looking increasingly dodgy, still subject to change even at this stage but it needs keeping an eye on.

Met Office just updated warnings for tomorrows low. Large part of the NW now in the amber area for wind tomorrow.

Gusts of 60-70mph widely, 80-90mph in exposed areas.  Expect further updates as and when needed.

According to sky news weather its going to be snow showers all over the north-west then overnight tonight heavy snow, clearing by dawn. But on the beeb it is forecasting scattered snow showers then it is gonna clear tonight and heavy persistent snow appearing further south than sky.

I rather have sky weather forecast right now. Snow is difficult to forecast and that is true,(Dec 2010) especially they tend to focus on the most threatening situation which is rain and wind.
