Wind has really picked up again in the last 10 mins. And oh my the rain! Squall line? House is shaking, and it's quite big and sturdy!

Just heard on BBC News that a chap in his 70s killed in Wiltshire whilst trying to clear a tree that brought down power cables.  Believed to have been electrocuted.  Terrible.

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

keep watching this

when the low shifts enough we will see showers start to come from the north west

as we go through the night these will likely become more wintry

this is all subject to how much showery activity can then make it here

off for a litttle while now

footie on soon

Looks like it's on its way to me now.

Huge c-g lightning here (just one bolt but very loud).

Yes, had two of them here in Surbiton while walking son to trampolining; quite an amazing squall line, driving hail and strong wind froze our faces as it pummelled us and twice we turned our backs to it all we were being buffetted so much, bits and pieces from the temporary road walks flying around us. Husband came to pick me up and said it was like a scene from a horror movie as I stood in the pouring rain, hair plastered to my face silhouetted against lightning forking across the sky!

83mph gust was the maximum recorded in Cottingham at 7:06pm, think I heard that one.

Don't want to pick a fight, but the Nene is nowhere near the Thames Barrier or any relief plains associated with it.

I would complain too and then sue the news company I was working for.
