It is hammering it down here now and it is really quite gusty already.

You can see a wintry mix in the heavy rain that we are having atm, not surprised looking at the radar, very bright echoes around the birmingham area atm.

Looking at the radar and forecast it looks as though Wales will get a pasting?. I think people along the Severn will have a worrying few days as all this water runs through.

Strange, now that the first pulse is almost through there looks like very little to come after. Expected the duration of the rain to be very long and persistent today.

We once again get away with any of the worst of it.

Like you PolarWarsaw, I'm surprised (and delighted) at how little rain we have had today, and how little there appears to be coming our way. It just seems to be breaking up. Hopefully, it won't get its act together later.

Another rain pulse heading in from the sw but it's quite fast moving.

Water was cascading over the dam at the Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir in Mid Wales today sparking fears today’s rain will cause more flooding as it feeds into the River Vyrnwy, joining the River Severn near Melverley

Yes we had a bout of heavy-ish wet snow but unfortunately it simply dissolves into the water on landing so no whiteness here. Stopped now for the time being, think we're in a clear patch according to the radar. Wind's definitely picked up. Temp up to 3.0oC.

Currently light rain edging back on just "spitting", however there's the odd few strong gusts every 5-10 minutes. Also because of a (still) ongoing DDoS attack, I cannot access my site to get the latest readings for me, however Wunderground are saying I'm currently at 978mb.

Hi All

Not too windy and not too rainy here in Nottingham up to now, seems like Nottingham has a bit of a weather shield as far as the worst weather is concerned.

stay safe everyone.

Going dark here, another downpour incoming. I think my rain gauge has gone faulty as it is only showing 6.0 mm for today ?

Heavy rain here, wind's picked up a lot. Rain total here so far (from what I can make out from the window!) is around 12mm I'd say.

Could be right - parts of Staffs had less than that Rugely way.

Had a brief burst of snow just before lunchtime today.

The milder air is well in place now though.

Looks like that is it for wintry potential for...well....how long is a piece of string? Could be 3 days...3 weeks...maybe even not until December or longer. That just seems to be the way this late winter spell is. Who knows what the next storm systems will bring?

Definitely won't snow again tonight or tomorrow though. Probably not for a few days now!
