Heavy snow falling near to Sutton in Ashfield, settling on grass verges and cars. If it continues at this rate it would give a decent covering but i think it will end soon. More likely later though with a couple of cms overnight.

Obviously too low here - we had a burst of hail, a teeny bit of sleet but mainly rain and now it is brightening up. Still yet to see any proper snow in this area.

Snow just stopped in Solihull after about an hour.

Temperature at 0.9C.

It was very sudden and occurred whilst I was in supermarket. Went in to rain, came out 40mis later to VERY HEAVY snow  and settling. Was 5.4C on car thermometer when I went in and 0.8C when I came out.

It as left a centimeter covering on lawns and roofs and really slippery slush on the roads.

What a surprise

There's more in the forecast for tonight... Maybe 2 to 3cm covering by the morning. Fingers crossed.

Huge snowflakes here for the past hour, lighter now. Was surprised to see it sticking considering the torrential rain we've had all morning but it did. Going slushy now though!

Snow sticks no matter how wet the ground is provided it is cold enough, heavy enough and lasts long enough - seen it happen many a time :)

As i'm off work this week, if there's a covering of snow tomorrow morning, i will definitely make a snowman-- even if it is 2cm tall!!

I disagree, it was very heavy for a while, the intense patch on the radar passed right over us.

Gone from heavy rain and temp of 5.6c at 11.20' to heavy squally hail and finally to quite heavy snow, covering everything except for the roads and pavements and a current temp of 0.6c. All this in just one day and then we have tomorrow's storm too. Only really in this country can you get weather like that.
