Had sideways hail here around 30mins ago. Looks like another band of rain and whatever else passing through now!

Shaw Taylor! Blimey ( remember him and in doing so feel just the little bit older now for doing so, thanks Tom, you just aged me a few more years, was feeling youthful till then )

I was thinking about Boyles law as well but I thought I was the only sad person

Sad person reporting back. Cold wind out there but made i back from the post office courtesy of Moutain equipment down jacket. could have succumbed otherwise. Post officer didnt want to discuss Boyles Law either -- but its so important !

Some have beans on toast for breakfast? :D

Blue skies again after going dark grey for 10 mins... a little bit of rain but nothing special. Next one incoming within half hour!

Getting very dark here now and the rain is back albeit only slight shower at present. And wind seems to be picking up again.Oooh! Hope we get some T&L. :)

Oh, it's really gusting now. It's looking grim. :O

Just had an intense hail shower pass through and now the sun is shining with blue skies. You wouldn't believe bad weather was coming.

Looking at this, it may snow on Tuesday evening as the systems clash, and it may be heavy, but it's going to be short lived and not cold enough for anything major.

Have had a few heavy showers in the last hour. The wind now seems to be gusting more frequently.

Happy NW anniversary JP... Here's to another 10 years

So my question is how does Mother Nature produce cold?

I want or rather hoping for a simple answer, and I think if I went in there I would just get slaughtered for my lack of understanding, I already know I'm think, I don't want it reconfirming :-). But I hope you agree it ain't a bad question! Assuming I phrased it correctly and people can understand what I mean.

Well I understand exactly what you mean and if you only want a simple answer then here it is.....cold is produced at the polar regions of the Earth were they get less sun or less direct rays of the sun than the equator; the cooler weather is drawn to latitudes closer to the equator, while warmer weather is pushed toward the poles causing circulating weather patterns in the air and the oceans.

I think if you went in MOD you would just get slaughtered full stop but there is a very good learning section on the forum here....

http://forum.netweather.tv/forum/24-learning-about-weather-and-meteorology/

....where you will get better answers to this or any other weather related questions you might have, after all your never to old to learn something new even at your age Posted Image

Sunny now but very blustery here. Lots of blue sky but big, white clouds banking to the S/W.
