It certainly still seems possible we could see our first snow in places this winter if it doesn't change to much.

It might only settle above the water table though..  Posted Image

Very nice and widespread on that although those maps always make it look better than reality! Posted Image

It would be a lovely change from the constant boring rain

Think the low has moved further north toward northern island and taking the rain up through wales as opposed to down here. Wales might be having in excess if 2 inches of rain today going by the radar.

Indeed, I don't like the look of the rainfall amounts they've been receiving of late, as all of that lot has to go somewhere, anywhere prone to the Thames and Severn should be bracing themselves if not already.

IOW pictures of the storm damage it has took recently

Below is a popular place for holiday goers, as you can see many won't be visiting this area of the island in the summer

Thanks for sharing. Some of those images are truly scary, just shows how powerful the seas have been. These are clearly seas that are not to be messed with of late. In fact, somebody stated elsewhere that they have produced the biggest waves for some 50 years or more. Posted Image

Tomorrow i am going out with the camera and taking a compilation of pictures of around the WHOLE of the island, however i shall not put myself in any danger and will be staying away from sea fronts, cliffs etc. I have quite a zoom on my camera so i will not need to get close.

GLTW the islands face has changed considerably since this onslaught of LP's and im sure it will change further, but us islanders all pull together and help each other out, come summer time this island will show of its beautiful natural land once again and all this bad weather will be forgotten about..

Love the island no matter how much it has changed or how different it will look

I've just got back from Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door. The sea is incredible, and the wind was something else, I went during the slight lull and I was still recording 45 to 50mph sustained, gusting to 60mph. I then walked up the huge path between the cove and durdle door itself, it was like being behind a jet engine, when I got to the top and looked out towards Portland, I saw a beast of a black cloud coming towards me, as it got closer, I could see white all the way to the sea surface, within two minutes I was being pelted by hail flying at 60mph, had to hide behind a gourse bush as it was so intense, my face was stinging and I had a head freeze moment, it was quite unreal! I'll post pics tomorrow.

What is going on on the levels at the moment beggars belief.

I can`t see the pic. I believe that £140 million goes abroad every year for environment issues, including flood relief. Gob smacked when I read that.
