Just wanted to say Tams, another very good, well constructed and explained post today and good luck to you for having the courage to post your thoughts, for the rest of Winter. I probably know more than most, how meticulous and thorough you are with your research. Your posts may indeed be lengthy but like me, there have been many who have learnt from your thoughts this Winter. It doesnt hurt to have a little Belief and just for you, here's a little ditty, you may well have heard before! Posted Image

Horrible drive from Weybridge to home this afternoon/evening.

Rain followed me all the way.  Glad to be home.

There has been much less rain here than in the South East, I hope all you guys stay safe

Whilst on the subject of music, (thanks Tomasino) my favourite song of all time, weather references aplenty, not many songs refer to foghorns, plus lots of other stuff.....

Finally got home early this morning!

Left Paris at 2:30pm and arrived in Calais for 7, had a 3 hour delay for boarding and spend another 2.5hrs on the boat due to huge queues, only 1 boat was allowed in the harbour at a time.

After switching coaches in Maidstone I finally got back to Southend at 2:30am, and back in Benfleet for 3!

Sheet rain and thunder & lightening around Calais late last night, and a few nice frosts in Paris, the ferry crossing was grim to say the least, people falling over, chairs flying and beers smashing, horrendous but fun, especially up on the smoking deck, don't know how we we're still allowed up there tbh, the gusts must have been at least 70mph Posted Image

So its a snowfest then JP ;) yay

Frustration everywhere. MOD thread, EA, somerset levels, Network Rail, it goes on and on

And to top it off Bronzed Bob Crow (cor blimey) sounds everso everso sorry (not) for peeing off millions of tube users. Boris bikes had a bonkers day and plenty of moaning from some miserable high end whinger they had run out of bikes... Surely not.

Think i'll stay tuned here, everywhere else is in meltdown.

Evening! It's raining here,,no really. Feels incredibly mild though. Unless it's just me!

Opened patio door earlier to put Foxie out some dinner scraps, and all I could hear were ducks! They must have popped up from the trout lake at bottom of the field. Bless em.

Hmm, it is here as well. I think the rain has stopped and wind dropped considerably. Very eerie indeed after the last day or two of wet and windy weather.

hi fd

if we get the charts shown with the maritime air only slightly modified as shown

i would say a pretty good chance of snow with that

however i must say working charts up to 96 is a real challenge at present

so going any further even with the fax charts is probably fi

this period for me is probably the hardest to work out fax updates i have done on here to date

Just rescued the missus after she broke down in the first lane of the A14 near the M1. Traffic officers yanked the car off the road to the nearest layby. AA then took her to the nearest service station. Mechanic came out to see if car could be made to go again but EGR valve had packed up taking the DPF with it... Posted Image

Third AA bloke came out to tow her home - my 'rescue' comprised of warm hugs, a decent coat and a cup of hot chocolate whilst all the time it was absolutely ssiping it down.

Dinner and a hot bath for when the damp one finally gets here.

Absolutely pouring here. It seems even the birds aren't feeling it out there either. They're all in my loft having some kind of bird AGM. No idea how I'm supposed to sleep with the noise they're making. Part of me is pleased that they're nice and dry, I just hope they're considerate about where they poop...

Some notable big raindrops have been falling here under this very still atmosphere. Its kind of nice listening to it on the roof and window. It does look like a well pronounced line from me stretching to the West Midlands and SW. Skywarn was warning of some high winds and potential vorticity... we shall see!!
