It's jolly windy out there and jolly wet too. Sorry, but the word has been in the media today!

I am a new comer but have listened in for some while, I love this site and spend hours reading JP and the knowledgeable people but really enjoy the less weather related posts. Weather here, its low tide so the sea is slightly less churned dry feeling cold awaiting rattling of the double glazing

A couple of strong gusts during an otherwise wet and breezy evening dog walk; one wheelie bin when flying as we ambled past, and I secured our bits and pieces when we got back.

This will be the first test of husband's fledgling fence panels and posts - 3 up, 2 to go - replacing the fallen fences from the Christmas storms. Fingers crossed they are still standing in the morning.

Hello Shackleton):)and everyone.

Getting abit blowy out there.

Been road walking the greyhounds of late as the field is too slippery.

I just hope for some dry, cold or mild but dry please.

You're just down the road from me :) Windy here, set to get windier I see from the warnings! Just wondering when high tide is tomorrow and if it'll coincide with the worst of the winds around midday/early afternoon..Edit: all coincides tomorrow..high tide Folkestone Harbour is at 14:39 at 6.7 meters (luckily not the highest we see) and the strongest gusts of 60mph+ Are set to be mid afternoon here. Maybe I'll not do my usual walk home with my boy from school along the cliff road tomorrow! Edited by lottiekent

Ah yes, I had forgotten that thundery sound around the roof and chimney as the gusts whip through. Rain much heavier now too, trees bending in the garden.

We've already had a gust of 33mph according to the RGS weather station which is in a reasonably sheltered location, as is Reigate generally as a result of hills to the south, and the north Downs to (unsurprisingly) the north. It's raining steadily now and generally feeling pretty wild. This seems to be what we have for the next few days, though no doubt our top analyst JP can give the details to flesh out my non-technical (ie useless) summary!

Very windy out there now and the fencing panels are rattling nicely. No rain as yet but its chilly in that wind.

Stay safe each. :)

The SW must be getting a battering, Just watched a Ryanair jet take half an hour trying to land at Bristol! I never knew that particular airline carried that much extra fuel!!

UK Power networks are stating possible power outages for S/E AND East over the next 24 hours.

High winds & rainfall are forecast in the East & South East which may cause #powercuts. Keep an eye on our feed

Proper wild here now, rain lashing windows and trees moving about. Might sleep fully clothed with all mobiles and ipad strapped to me incase something falls on the house, atleast I've got all means of comms on my person.

Stupid to think like that I guess!!

A few hum dinger big trees here tho.
