Yes and from what I hear it may be time to dust off the spreadsheet and wind up the computer for the snow depth cup. All may not be lost (but probably is) Posted Image

Good evening everyone. I unthinkingly used the phrase 'throwing toys out of the pram' here yesterday. No-one on this regional topic does that. What I should have said was 'throwing in the towel' regarding posting. I hope folk don't do that because I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere in this place. Apologies if my post was misconstrued.

At what point are we allowed to throw our towel out of the pram ?

When everyone's angry about being some innocent fun lover having a post deleted and March is here and we still haven't seen any snow? Posted Image

Brilliant forecast JP as I am moving a load of furniture tomorrow between 10 am till 1 pm. Local council have resurfaced our road and brushed all the extra ashalt into the drains which are now blocked. Should be interesting when the rain/flooding starts as inspite of calling them nothing has happened to clear them.

Is that an occlusion I see right over the Kings Lynn area? That'll be fun.

Out on the dog walk this afternoon, it was the first time I've experienced a cold southerly wind. That front must have ripped across the Atlantic with no modification whatsoever.

Not complaining about your forecast John, what will come will come....

Just glad I'm living in a house which isn't prone to flooding (apart from my own wrt the Tamara/overflowing bath incident last week Posted Image).

This winter will be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

I am a new comer but have listened in for some while, I love this site and spend hours reading JP and the knowledgeable people but really enjoy the less weather related posts. Weather here, its low tide so the sea is slightly less churned dry feeling cold awaiting rattling of the double glazing

Whereabouts are you? You can put your location in your profile :)

W/S in garden already registering 20.5 mph, so I guess the gusts are higher than that, it certainly sounds worse than 20.5? Can anyone enlighten me on the differences between MPH and gust speeds? In the wood behind my home, the trees are making cracking noises and the rain has yet to arrive. I live in a valley to the side of the exposed Brighton Racecourse, so think we are getting some relative protection off the sea.

The drive from work was all eyes peeled for slalom dodging recycle and rubbish bin obstacles.

EDIT: rain arrived as I posted
