People walking their dogs being blown around like pieces of confetti here....why would you bother/risk being hit by falling debris??

Why hardly ANYTHING in the Midlands, 55mph gusts happen all the time so why this storm?!!!! Then again... worse to come later as the warning is not in force until 6.00PM!

Urm really?... I think you'll find gusts exceeding 50mph so far inland are actually quite rare, most people that think they've seen a 50mph gust in reality are probably only experiencing 40mph max!

I don't think anyone anticipated it to be quite this bad, the models did seem to upgrade it quite a bit at the last minute with little warning.

The low currently is at 955mb, and probably won't deepen much more, if any, but I don't think this is a day we will be forgetting any time soon.

This is why you listen when they say no unnecessary journeys.

Just 10 minutes from end of meeting someone came in to tell us HGV blown over on Brittania bridge... Leaving now from Llangefni to try get over Menia bridge but it's apparently chaos... Weather is brutal but if I had to guess it's no quote as strong as it was... Some trees down in fields now we are on back roads... Debris all over roads

Just think people even the smallest thing coming at you at 70MPH is going to hurt, much more than a twig and it's lights out !

This is worse than I thought, just popped my head out of the window...constant roar and the gusts are insane. Things flying about everywhere. Sat in the front room of the house and the floor is vibrating with the gusts.

No comment. Posted ImageBetter duck when the projectiles come towards you then. Hopefully folk will be safer in their homes and cars but even then its madness. Nonetheless a storm is a storm and that's where the fun lies as long as you are sensible. Not the only storm this week either.

What's more concerning is that Friday/Saturday's storm is looking equally as potent but this time South-East England so the most populated corner of the country looks like it could take the brunt!

Any more news or views about Friday?

yep it possibly looks worse ensembles just out the vast majority have upgraded the strength slightly and remember this storm got incremental upgrades in strength on each run.
