Continuous moderate to heavy snow with big flakes moving steadily North and East across the region.

Just seen Liverpool has 30 percent chance of snow on Tuesday. On netweather updTe it mentions snow for next week coming into the Northwest

Its only a forecast and must be taken with a pinch of salt as I have seen 1000 frames of the GFS that have projected snow for my area this winter so far, amount of times I have seen snow though is a big fat zero, Nick F (professional forecaster for Netweather) mentions he is surprised by people saying charts uninspiring for cold, so its not out of the question this time.

Sorry, wires crossed, that chart I posted is for next Tuesday, as posted above, ties in with the 30% chance snow for Liverpool, the forecasts are the same data as the run I posted.

Seem to be a lot of gas explosions lately, I wonder if the workmanship is as good as it used to be because the advances in safety technology mean we should be getting less, not more

Thanks for posting that WH can't believe it was 18 years ago.

That date, and that december week in winter 2010 were without doubt the snowiest i've ever seen here - 2010 bettered even that snow in 1996.

Again we've been lucky to avoid the worst of the winds and rain (the weather really has got it in for the South especially SW).... still not had a low this winter were the winds have intensified on it's western flank as it tracks over the pennines (or not one that I've noticed), that's usually when you get the full force of the winds around my area. Saturday's low may be more problematical for our region, regarding wind strength?

Heavy rain with dark skies to the south as i'm currently within the 'streamer' to the east of the LP circulation.
