ECM Says no unfortunately, track similar to ukmo as expected at 72 but uppers 1-2c milder.

Thats all very well but to the untrained eye, when is that for? Lol

Monday, doubt it will come to anything though tbh.

However, the cold uppers do arrive but later, probably wintry showers, its hard to gauge because the ECM (best model) you can only view in steps, wee will have to wait to know for sure what happens when it comes into range of higher resolution EURO4 model on sunday morning.

even though it looks better than the ukmo at 72 hours the 850s are milder!!weird that!!in a slack flow though am not sure the 850s will be everything!!

The models aren't completely in agreement with any aspect yet and as its a marginal, the detail we are looking for may not be nailed until 12 hours out, I think the 'I wont trust the models and will only believe it when I look out of the window' argument is took too far at times and is a toys out of pram type argument, however, this could well be one of those times when it holds true.

Met office are not really buying any significant low level snow so odds against any sizeable event at this stage but I guess they have their eyes on the more damaging aspect which is wind and rain.

To marginal and will probably mix out we need a cold western Europe and lower uppers, sadly I think we'll miss out again !!

Probably, although at least give it until tomorrows 12z 's are out and if they still show interest then sunday onwards Euro4 output.

Yes it was, the tightest isobars are actually located across NW England for a time tonight, but because we're not due to be flooding, we don't warrant a warning. Still the winds could reach 65mph in gusts across the region tonight/tomorrow.

Windier than it was..... Neighbour back from hospital so given her her dog back after dogsitting for two weeks, im guessing that was the smell? Hehe.... But it is getting gustier outside now, wood burner is really fired up.... After carib chicken its nachos n cheese.... Yum.... As per everything of wintry promise on models its either pushed back or watered down or continually moved to a week ahead.... Even at 300m ive only seen snowflakes twice thus far ... Winter wasted or yet to be upgraded as mid feb passes... Hoping next week gives me six inches.... :)

Tomorrow midday for us will be the most 'severe' part for the wind. The wind will be more WSW by then :)

gusts to 38mph here now, so it's picking up.. a nice rumble down the fireplace
