I noticed all grit lorries parked at the side of motorway this morning

Still sitting there tonight when I drove home

I want that job , they must have read every single word in there newspaper

Another wee shower there, roads all white. No sign of the gritters! Great to have snow at last Posted Image

All the gritters are on the A9, going 35mph in convoy, no snow, no ice. Overtime mongooseers.

Could this be a central streamer getting going?

It would be nice.

New hoose lamppost getting a good work out the night, good breeze blowing the snaw all over. Road doon the hill the morn going to be fun, or hopefully it will become a sledge run.

Temp on the rise. Still snowing here but Edinburgh Airport now up to 2c and reporting light rain.

Let's see what tomorrow brings. Met Office forecast not without interest albeit short lived.

Atlantic system looking menacing on satellite http://www.yr.no/satellitt/europa.html

post-7292-0-18832100-1392190542_thumb.jp

Here are the 10m windspeeds over the next 18 hrs and looks like some Red Warnings may come into effect, from the satellite loop strong bomb development of the leaf over the last 6-8 hrs, good injection of cold air.

post-7292-0-69742700-1392190534_thumb.pnpost-7292-0-21531800-1392190537_thumb.pnpost-7292-0-70441700-1392190539_thumb.pn

Fax and modelling shows the low off the NE Coast by midnight, chances of sporadic snow showers throughout today, elevation key as usual, another good run for the ski resorts.

post-7292-0-54053800-1392190544_thumb.gipost-7292-0-23375400-1392190545_thumb.gipost-7292-0-33155200-1392190543_thumb.pn

Weather going to be in the headlines for the next 48 hrs for certain.

Oh dear Catch, you should take up proof-reading - it was three in the morning and with no lights on (bit like you yesterday morning probably!!)

Correction should read +1.2C/0.4C!
