From ECM 12Z in three and four days time.

There's definitely potential for more large swells to the western side of the country with these. With the very high tides, it's not looking great.

In day 10, there is still low pressure uncomfortably close to the southwest approaches. Yes, there's a large cold block way to our east, freezing eastern Europe, but we've had these in some of our mildest winters.

Still, on the other hand, no forecast can be reliably made too far into the future. Posted Image

The models always underestimate a block. Always do! Lets hope this keeps up, we need the dry conditions!

Fingers crossed  Ben ,Fingers crossed could not agree more and I am hoping that all this current output there is a wolf in sheep's clothing going to pounce from the East or Even the North,Certain areas in the UK are in desperate need now of a break from Atlantic onslaughts.

Below is an Outstanding link for a whole year of weather in HD of The Planet Flattened out, The Uk is in the centre. Starting from Jan to Dec 2013. Its actual and amazing ,You can see,Typhoons, Hurricanes and The Atlantic onslaught for the UK starting back in December and lots more. Hope you enjoy it.

Have you any idea for our area regarding any snow tomorrow  John?- have to say I could do without it tomorrow as busy day so hoping won't be problematic if we see any.

block hold to our east

low pressure pushed away

Posted Image

which keeps the cold air in europe

and this is a dryer run

a tip

you need to know when to call fantasy island on the charts

and this is as far as i would go

as for all the winters are over posts today

good luck with that Posted Image

I personally think they are underestimating the block, just like they did for the low pressure over us now, it's getting into the time frame that they may start showing the block holding just like this ECM. Next couple of days will give a more clear picture either way.

Posted Image

http://www.raintoday.co.uk/

basically

wet and some heavy with the odd rumble possible

not cold

Posted Image

unless you are lucky to see clear skys

also fog and mist possible

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

tomorrow

Posted Image

a cold and breezy east-south easterly flow

temps

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

will be cold

0-3 degrees

precipitation

Posted Image

Posted Image

the bit at 42 has got my attention

if as shown on ukmo and is heavy enough we should see some snow

remember calling snow is very difficult and may come down to radar watch

whether it lays and how much is very hard to call here

anyway nice to have that chance at present

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

thursday

Posted Image

still cold as now a pretty biting northerly wind

temps

Posted Image

Posted Image

will be cold

around 4 degrees

and a biting windchill from the wind

rainfall

Posted Image

there should be enough moisture around to see some light wintry flurries through the day

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

thursday night

Posted Image

colder flow removed

back to south westerly

still cold though

Posted Image

around 3 degrees

only held up by cloudcover and fog

precip

Posted Image

that drizzly misty mutky stuff

watch for am fog with this set up

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

not doing fridays yet until tonights updates come through

I have been watching and occasionally commenting on this thread for the last year or so. I split up from my partner after 2 children and after 7 years at the beginning of December. Even after the rubbish winter we have encountered so far, I would like to say a big thanks to you all for giving me a focus in the recent months : )

Hello EJA, I'm sure the great bunch on here would say you are more than welcome and to please post whenever you feel like doing soAS

Tis a pretty rare event to not have 1 snowfall cover from November to date, obviously still plrenty of time and it snowed and settled here last April for instance but even I admit February is not looking good unless you want even more rain.

I wonder when the last Autumn/Winter and Spring was down here when not even 1 instance of a covering of snow ? Possibly back in the warm 1990's maybe.

I am guessing my layering of Hail on Friday will not qualify me for a wintry covering Lol

Was it you I heard on the Chris Evans show on radio 2 this morning??? :)

Just sat eating my dinner and watching millionaire matchmaker, when the sky lit up!! Presume lightning. Didn't near thunder, but hard to decipher with planes going over to heathrow.

I got a Vantage Vue for Christmas as well as a mounting kit, still haven't set it up!

Bought the wooden post and hammered it into a 75cm spike, need to get it in the ground, it's ideal conditions with all this wet ground, trouble is it's SO miserable outside, the garden is a swamp and I can't even get to the mounting area due to the amount of standing water in the garden!

May have to wait till spring :(
