Was traveling around east angular today. Quiet watercolour skies. Bemused by two class 47 locomotives with two coaches and the back end of a class 91 electric on the way to great yarmouth... Not that I'm a train spotter...!

I was off getting my Criminal Minds fix....wish I hadn't now, it was pretty twisted! Moving onto Helix, can't decide yet whether it's horror or hammy. I like a good B-movie, so I'll stick with it :-)Quite non-eventful down here today, chilly edge and some rare sun, still at 5.7 degrees. I still want a show of snow, but don't want it to mess with the planting season again, it's really going to finish a lot of the farming community off :-(

I'm that bored, I'm actually starting to read the advertising tags on the bottom of the thread. I manage to refrain from buying any rock salt though....

I'm half reading this, half reading a book, half watching something inane on tv, and on the other hand, I might turn in for the night, I had a disturbed night last night. Can't really settle to looking at anything.

Multitasking - I like it. I just finished watching Silent Witness on demand. Not sure I'm overly keen with this series.

To be honest I didn't realise they'd made another series. I preferred the old cast anyway. Gave up watching "The Musketeers" last night - now, that's a pile of poop.

heres the ecm ensembles for london

temps

Posted Image

up to the 4th

theres the split so fi is there as well

these are pretty cold

ecm at the end goes to a warm outlier

wind

Posted Image

breezy around the 1st

split on the 4th

rain

Posted Image

some rain up to the 4th

but not a monsoon

see where the split is

the 4th again

now gfs op is the thick blue line

the odd ensemble goes with it but that is way over the mean so its an outlier

http://www.weathercast.co.uk/services/ensemble-forecast.html?eps=london

read the link above as that explains how these ensembles are worked out

Was in south Wales this morning and saw a dusting of snow atop of the mountains, hope that's not the only snow I'll see this winter!

Precip Weds night clearing south with low moving down to France may have some wintriness. Otherwise, chance of some snow flurries Thursday, blowing off the N Sea, mainly Essex, E London, N/E Kent. Dewpoints progged below freezing by then, so supportive of snow, but flow predominantly dry bar shallow layer above N Sea.

Hmm, interesting one Saturday, would say chance of some back edge snow Saturday evening as front clears rather than rain preceded by snow looking at models. Cold polar maritime flow brings in wintry showers across the west into Sunday but probably dry and cold for us.

hi nick

i am thinking rain first

then snow for a while on the back end

but odd how low them 500 temps are

and 528 from west to east of us

long way out so may change

but certainly interesting to see that set up

thanks for your reply Posted Image

sorry mate read your sunday bit by mistake

i think we agree Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Just downloaded a snow screen saver on my desktop. Seems the nearest we will get to a snow event!

Due to the magnetic pole shift in place which is out by 23*, there is an unbalance of polarity. The polar vortex is reliant on the energy in the earth's core and this magnetic pole shift has put this sequence out sync. This is the main reason for the severe cold periods in many parts of America & Canada and the heatwaves in the Southern Hemisphere coupled with a record breaking Jet Stream bringing us storm after storm - (Other energy sources has also intensified the storms)Well, the splitting of the polar vortex is giving Alaska unbelievable high temperatures at the moment. The continuing of this split with a warming Stratosphere will herald Atlantic blocking around the second week of February where a very cold feed across the whole of the UK / western Europe will develop.

Cold rain with the chance of sleet at best just doesn't float my boat. Nothing on the horizon, ensembles don't support much other than westerlies resuming after Friday. Sad, but I think i'm throwing in the towel now.
