2.4c here and I'm pretty much soon to be located in the middle of the precipitation band. Hopefully it will pep up a bit for you lot further West and that should enable lowering of the WBFL I believe.

Temperature looks okay for snow up here the way it is going but won't be much if it does. Local meto forecast looks interesting for Saturday and Sunday though! Heavy snow showers throughout both now? Posted Image

Good to see you being positive Mulls, we are in a cool to cold spell right now and the MAD thread continues to be dominated by posts that are suggestive of mild airstreams and deluges of rain, duh! There is some good agreement on the short-term and I wouldn't mind betting things couldn't yet change in our favour, perhaps towards a drier spell eventually, who knows?

Princetown, similarly has got heavy snow showers due saturday night and early sunday. I'll just be below the snow level here but worth the half drive up the hill

You might just find you get a surprise mate, dartmoor is funny like that!

Just rain at the minute, although the weather type radar says sleet...

Not sure where  to post this, but will try in here anyway! Do any of you use the Met O site on mobile? It was one of the better mobile sites. It seems to have been totally revamped yesterday or today. The new version is terrible. I can't even seem to find a forecast for the UK. Plenty of regional ones, but no national?!? Also, there used to be 'Latest land observations', and that seems to have gone too.

A low of 3.1C

Currently 3.7C damp, miserable and grey, it's like living inside the back seat of a 1980's Mercedes. :(

I think the causeway will flood between Wareham and Stoborough again at the weekend, there's still tons of flood water coming down the From, another 15 to 25mm possible across the region, that will greatly exacerbate levels, all that combined with a Spring tide and a deep low pressure. My tide book says it will be 2.5m at Poole quay, that's the highest for 12 months without the aid of a storm surge.

Fishing could be interesting this weekend.

3.4c and the coldest day since last March, however is this the coldest maximum I'll be having all winter?

We got to get at least one ice day in winter surely.. Posted Image

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
