Bert Williams

Recommended Posts

Bret Williams has died at the age of 93. He was probably the best keeper wolves ever had and played in their fine side against Honved. The latter contained nine of the great Hungarian team. He was also in goal for England when they suffered their most ignominious of defeats (there have been a few since) when they lost 1-0 to the US in the 1950 World Cup which was in Brazil.

He was that. I remember the Honved game vaguely. I think I listened to it on the radio.
