Rain coming in all directions - good test for my CCTV camera's waterproofness! Getting proper windy and I can hear the rain on the conservatory roof from the other side of the house.

Still no thunder... the proper dark reds on the radar might miss me :(

Squall fragmented slighty here as it arrived, but have seen three flashes, one of which was close enough to show what appeared to be a pink CG bolt, with an accompanying crash of thunder.  Rain still fairly heavy and wind gusty as I type.

All too brief but at its peak reminded me me of being in Typhoon Morakot in Taiwan...

Funny you should say that.........I likened it to a Derecho, it really was intense

And now it's as if nothing ever happened!! Fox has just turned up, wet, looked at me as if to say, what was that noise earlier?

Better than any lightning I saw all last summer! Very strong squall as well! Gust of 64mph here.

Thunder lightning and wind enough to rattle the letterboxes..oh and there comes the hail!

ETS:  Stuck my head out the door and the extremely gusty wind smells salty!  I know we are by the salt river but in the 16 years I have lived in this house I have never had that before!

Nice flashes of lightning and huge raindrops have made me run from the station the pub.

Nightmare

Could need 4 pints of London Pride to recover.

Will provide situation update from the nerve centre/saloon in a little while....

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
