Welcome to the first (and not the last) Spring 2014 thered.

Will it give a record breaking cold mouth like march 2013???

Will it give super low's bring trucks loads of rain, hail, winds, snow and what else you can bring.

Will it give a hot spring or a cold spring.

Or will it be a dry spring.

But we find out soon.

So what predictions have you got for spring 2014?

Or even talk about it.

Seems as bit early given there is still 6 weeks of official winter left

Is it i think the winter discussion thread started in mid August!

I would have thought this thread was right up your street SS, seeing as you're always banging the mild drum.

I'd very much like it to bring a record breaking cold mouth, don't think we've ever had one of them before? Posted Image

Well I shall be hated for it but I am hoping for an early/on-time and seasonal spring after last years prolonged winter that seemed to skip the spring season.

well spring 2013 was 1 in a 50year event, i would enjoy seeing a repete if not better. If we cant then i would like a nice and a warm spring. The winter 2013-2014 discussions started early to mid september if i remembor ritely. The snow and ice in the nh started mid to late august.

Can't we just have an average Spring? please not apocalyptically wet. I don't mind the odd bit of excitement with snow in March but last year was awful because of the longevity. Hoping for some snow in February then a normal spring that gets progressively warmer.

And i won't be standing for a third rubbish May in a row either (i'll just stay in bed....)

Something seasonal would be nice - yes some cold spells in March/April but mixed in with warm ones too.

The UK needs a bit of drying off too so a dry but not bone dry spring would no doubt help.

Looking forward to a Berlin spring where day/night temperature swings are more pronounced than in the UK... Be certainly more interesting than this 3-7c day & night winter...

This thread should be locked it's only the middle of Winter. Some people are getting far too giddy.

When did winter start?

..

In past years there's had to be a winter sub-forum created in August.

I would have to agree there, especially after this dire winter so far. A cold March would be nothing more than a kick in the teeth imo.

Agreed. If Winter threads can be started in August then it's only fair the Spring thread can start now. Edited by Ruufio

The worst case scenario is that we have started a new cycle, between May 06 and June 07 i think all months were above average with i think 5 months in the top 10 (3 being the warmest).

Longer days, stronger sun and some lovely warmth would be very welcome. We've endured a very long Autumn and it is about time for some lovely Spring happiness ..... perhaps starting mid-late Feb and lasting until June/July when Summer proper kicks in Posted Image

Bring me sunshine ..... da da da

It would be nice to get something remotely winter-like first before thinking about spring, but hopefully a changeable one rather than one extreme or the other like seems to be common these days.
