Yeah the better your elevation the better your chance. I'm not convinced low lying areas will see to much. Anything with a bit of elevation 80+ will get a covering

Well if it's going to snow your should be around 11ish though will start as rain. If I was u I would stay up late! May be the only snow that u see!!!

Hows mullingar going to fare?

 

 

Expect sleet/snow in the next couple of hours after rain. Probably the wet variety but it's something!

 

 

On radar it's the second narrower band that should give sleet and snow to low levels.

And then in the very early hours another band will bring more snow but this will be short and should turn to rain after day break.

That rain band is really intensifying as it moves north east, could bring some very heavy rain and squally conditions to the east in the next few hours.

lots of pics on boards.ie of snow in castlebar co, mayo. roads and pavements white. must be a decent chance of lying snow up here. heavy rain falling here now.

Raining heavily here atm,temp 5.4c. Hope to see a bit of snow when it turns colder before the night is out.

Temperature still falling here in Cahir, from 5.4C to 2.7C in the last 90 minutes. Any precip should at least have a wintry mix to it now.

ground completely white here now! heavy snow still falling. cant believe how quick this went from cold rain to lying snow. amazing.
