Tomorrow could see something with more of a wintry note.. For the Peak District.

"Dry and frosty during the small hours of Sunday, with ice developing in places. Cloud will thicken quickly through the morning with southerly winds strengthening considerably ahead of another band of very heavy rain moving west to east across the area, perhaps preceded by some transient snow over highest peaks late morning. Brighter late afternoon but very windy with potential storm-force westerly gusts over peaks and scattered heavy sleet and snow showers, with snow likely to accumulate."

And Monday is even better...

Monday

Cold with the likelihood of heavy rain or showers through the day, falling as snow at altitude. Some significant snowfall likely above 200-300m with some temporary falls to lower levels possible too. This risk is mainly during the early morning, with a chance that freezing levels will rise during the day for a time, but with rain or sleet continuing.

Need that low to sink much further south aka UKMO/GEM, GFS and ECM both snowless and bland again here from beginning to end, may well be a few wintry surprises tomorrow night though?

This is great. Loads of lightning. Instant thunder. Probably the best storm we've had here for awhile and it's in January lol

I remember being woken up by a rogue storm half 7am on the 31st Jan last year.
