Had to laugh last night, I checked that Metcheck website and it said I weren't due any bit of snow/light snow until 11th April... which now 11th April is showing up as a "scorcher" and my snow has now moved to a "light" sprinkling on 2nd and 4th of March. :/

9c and mostly cloudy Posted Image tomorrow's amplification/potential now completely evaporated (goodbye first sub 5c day of the winter and wintry potential) meaning Friday's storm rolls in with it's 10c+ temperature's with ease to, meanwhile -14c in New York City (and sub -30c up in parts of New York State) this morning with the next big freeze underway Posted Image

Gone quite sunny here, mild again though. The lack of low maxima really is the defining feature of this winter now, even those 90s rotters had the odd day of freezing fog and low maxima. The lowest this "winter" was way back on November 19th with 5C, and that's been exceeded again today. We have had lower maxima than that in several April's.

Ground frost here tonight.

not here 5.2°C, dreading the familiar setups of washouts on friday and Sunday, the 2 wettest days of the week

And Saturday to for good measure  Sunday's front probably drop about 3mm at most here.

All in all very disappointing turn of events after the glimmers of hope the other day, seems December's coming back again just with slightly colder rain, 18z backing up my prediction of any sub -4 upper's/potential continually being shredded away for next week, not even bothering with the charts tomorrow as it will only induce further rants .

Thundering and snowing here at the moment, absolutely lashing it down. Visibility reduced to about 300 mts.

8C and sunny here- a bit of cold rain earlier. No snow visible on any hills round here, the highest are over 500m, very surprised to here the reports of snow at 300m not much further north... would have guessed freezing level to be about 1000m now.

Heavy sleet here for the last half hour or so, distinctly closer to snow in the last 10 minutes or so. First "wintry shower" of the winter - it's taken till the 23rd of Jan. Practically no elevation here BTW- so quite surprising.

Sunny spells/fairly cloudy here but dry today after a few early morning showers, high of 7.2c.

If only Sunday's low would undercut a bit and go further south, looks pretty raw for a time, 2/3c at lunchtime with heavy rain, a few miles further south with that warm sector out the way could of been interesting.

So the hideous elongated Autumn continues.

I just want 1 or 2 heavy snow events between now and the end of March, is that too much to ask?

That's really all it would take to redeem this godforsaken drab winter.

Wind Chill  -4.1c, N/N/W 14mph

Can't beat a good ol N/Wly.

Hi,

Nice little covering of snow outside , not even showing up on NW radar ! Very marginal I'm guessing
