Showers early yesterday evening followed by a few hours of dry weather then more showers during the early hours, these falling as sleet, then snow, but only light and resulting in a very thin scattering of lying snow.

The showers and most of the cloud cleared by dawn and it's been a dry day with sunny intervals this morning and early this afternoon followed by thickening high and medium level cloud which has brought light sleet in the last few minutes.
