Hi There SE Gang,

Hope you are all well.

I am very confident of much colder conditions setting in next week. Expect GFS to change output tomorrow to a much colder outlook and for the MetO to start hinting this colder theme also on Wed/Thurs.

Let's get the ramping mode going Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Incredible images from the air of Surrey floods [Thames] 2014

http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/sky-high-snaps-show-scale-thames-6503197

Used to live in Weybridge, and I have seen the Thames very high, not been there recently to compare to what it is now. also so often went to the Walton Thames.

Some photos below from floods of Jan2008:

ecm ensembles

temps

Posted Image

the ecm op is not a cold outlier

infact it looks like a warmer option up to 21st

wind

Posted Image

nowt of note here

19th gfs looks an outlier

rain

Posted Image

quite clear this

ecm barring a bit of rain up to the 16th it looks very dry

gfs doesnt by a long way

Fingers crossed for tomorrow then JP. Very good news on ECM ensembles. Model thread be busy at 6am.

Didn't see the river getting into the gardens along the Thames back then! still was very high and fast though.

Thanx as ever JP........every evening's report is much appreciated

Also to Electric Snow storm for your recent rain/flood maps...thank you!

.....And to Coast for the morning shift preparing us for the oncoming day

You;re all stars!!!!

Surrey - completely understand your concerns re the rising Thames.......hope it stabilises before too much further flooding damage is caused.  Believe me, if I had a magic wand - the first thing I would do is ensure no-one ever would have floodwater inside their home. Also sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly - there really is a nasty virus going around - see below.

JennieJane - I hope your recovery speeds up now. and glad you got treated in time ...you have been in my thoughts lots since you first posted your condition.  I have had a very painful viral chest infection for >12 weeks now and if it weren't for the fact I insisted on a chest Xray in mid december as a direct result of your post, I too would now be sitting in A & E.

To Terence the caterpillar.....hasta la vista!

To Bromley Jan - I don;t know you as I am a newbie but I am really pleased to see you back posting with your friends.

Sorry but Smileys not working for me tonight

Going to sign off now as have some really stinky cages to clean out otherwise the piggies will start to "express their displeasure"xxxx

Would like to share with readers a piece of my image design work, as we are in the floods with the Thames wanted to show what it could look like if London was in drought with a dry river.

Would have taken to long to edit in the 100000 bicycles, 500000 old dustbins, and 90000000000000 beer cans..

[if you just logged on I'm referring to an image of a dried out Thames] (not possible this month)

Morning all!

3°C consistently through Sussex this morning currently and we escaped the worst of any overnight ice on the roads here by the looks of things.

It might be a day without rain for some in our region today, but it returns at dusk and meanders about through tonight and into tomorrow morning again:

I have to say I'm not at all keen on this years fashion trends so far.....

How about something a little more convective later this week?

Morning all. :)

Overnight cloud clearing to the east, so expecting a pretty decent sunny day here.

Off to check the Model Thread. I suspect there will be wailing and teeth gnashing, if, as reported here, the ECM has backtracked from yesterday evening.

Have a good day everyone!

Mornin each. Bright but cloudy here in Ippy. Had plenty of overnight rain by the looks of it out there. It's quite mild as well, and still. It was warm last night.....I had to throw the covers off. :)

Have a good day, folks. :)

Morning peeps,

Have been advised by work to take today of as well and go in tomorrow... Woke up with the worst aches ever! Having said that, after last nights thunderstorm I was feeling better.. A purple flash and deep rumbling thunder AMEN!

Not liking the look of yet more rain to come! Actually looks like we may get quite a lot over the next 48 hours Posted Image

Morning all,

A lovely frosty and sunny start to the day here...hopefully it will warm up a bit and stay dry until we get home from the cow shed tonight, I'll be wearing my thermals anyway but I really don't fancy getting wet !!

Have a fun day folks.....here is a ramp from me....
