Power back on after 45 hours off. Very windy outside, defo not as bad as Wednesday! Staying put by log burner. My gut instinct re candles was right. Stops being romantic after a while. Sleet and snow shower now.

Squall line just gave 3c rise in an hour to a mild 9c, and 6mm in past hour, stopped briefly now before the showers arrive.

Incredibly almost 200mm rain in the first half of February and counting!

What are other peoples rainfall stats for the month/ Winter, would be interesting to compare - what with there being no snow/ cold spells?

272mm here so far not including rain since last night, not checked the raingauge yet but another good dollop in there I'm sure.

1,070mm for the winter so far, crazy. Just noticed the Jan-Feb total is 666mm, the winter of doom indeed.

Wales though, has survived relatively unscathed.

Basically, Wales is nails.

the mountains help greatly - the run off ends up over in England - or a short distance to the sea - mind you we have taken a pasting on the coast too

mumbles back up to 72mph gusts again and more to come tonight

Today has been split into three different phases, the morning was all about heavy rain, this afternoon was all about heavy showers and tonight seems to be all about very strong gusts of wind so far! Not as strong winds as Wednesday but they're strong nevertheless!

4.2inches which is a record for just 2 weeks so far its over 200mm.Well some sleet snow this morning but couldn`t stick, then a heavy period of rain driving to newtown this afternoon then dried up,less rain here, wasn`t much in the gauge.Still snow over the hills to the south, looks like it had drifted quite abit. Mediocre winds here tonight. What's all the fuss about over the channel in Bristol/Somerset areas?!The South and North of us seem to have got all the strongest winds this winter

Well 54mph gusts is more than just a breeze recorded in mumbles .
