Im sure I heard thunder in the distance before, it must have been eastwards of here though, I guess it's possible I heard something from east Lancashire, as it's open all the way from here to there (highest point here to a B line).

Strange how I am not far from Ashton or Oldham and had nothing yet, setting my alarm for the early hours to have a peak out the window just incase.

Snow beginning to stick on the M62 summit grass (about 400m) so very high up.

Looks to be a big gap in between the clumps of showers now and I'm right in the middle of that gap.

Never mind I've had a bit so shouldn't be greedy.

M62 is the higest motorway anyway, especially Saddleworth moors area.

Doesn't seem to be much crossing the Irish Sea at the moment with the next band of showers on the other side of Ireland so I think that's it for me and snow watching for tonight.

Leave it like that and maybe a surprise in the morning.

if this was from the northwest (the wind), humidity would be higher and showers would be mostly of rain or hail..

Been asleep for an hour has anything changed? Oh nope.... Ill keep my eye on the radar over next few hours.....

Ps that clump on radar/ satelite just coming into ireland looks a lot more organised and persistant.....could have our name on it.....

It was just looking over my house too. No snow so has gone now !!

if you take a look at the graphics on the bbc website it shows snow for the early hours accross the region
