Nice burst of hail here just as the rain cleared. Quite pleasant now. Current January rainfall is 10mm off the average with a week to go at http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=ITRAFFOR3

This is the first time in the 11 winters I've spent in Manchester where I've not seen a soingle snowflake by this time. Remarkable.

Some pretty heavy wintry showers coming through leaving my first cover of hail/slush of the season. Temp fallen to 2.6c with icy cold winds.

Tell you what it really needs to dry out sometime soon round here.  Fields have stopped draining, run off from last evening/this morning just going straight onto roads in places.  Plenty more to come tomorrow and over the weekend by the looks of it as well ....

According to Jay Wynne's bbc forecast just now he says ''its gonna turn colder early next week''. He does not said mid-week next week. I confused now.

A few flakes of snow mixed in with the rain here currently, temps need that -1'c drop for anything significant to start falling however.

Went dark for a few minutes as another shower pushes through, accompanied by snail (snow and hail).

had a couple of heavy hail, sleet and rain showers but another hail shower has just passed through and it was probably the heaviest hail shower iv ever seen, it was a whiteout and there was a covering on the roads, paths and roofs, it was probably about 1cm in some places, it only lasted 5 minutes aswell, and it was quite soft. And theres another one on the way! they normally lose alot intensity coming from a NW direction over the sea.

Jealous! Where abouts are you located? Struggling to stick here, just not heavy enough.

Northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake, snow was very heavy and lasted around 15 mins, hence a good covering, suprising as you have 100m on me, must be down purely to intensity
