Ok, let's just see if I've got this right.

I wait for it to snow,

then i pile as much snow as I can on a flat surface like the garden table,

    then I measure it?

Hey JP - hope you had a good day. You can if you want, take tonight off seeing as it's your birthday. But make sure you back tomorrow posting! ;-)

Pretty chilly out there tonight, which made the nightly run slightly stingy on the fingers. 100% clear skies, which will hopefully bode well for a frost, and for spotting the sky display later tonight.

It is! Iwas quite impressed untill he mentioned the polar vortex and something he'd seen in the mirror abd it went downhill from there!

Mind Blowing image of Aurora Borealis Denail National Park Alaska.

That is beautiful, one of the best pictures I've seen of one, and on my list of things to see before the zimmer frame beckons.

On a local note, the sky is clear and I can see stars for a change, well as many as living in London allows.

in regard to Snow I revert to my faithful mantra passed down from generations before - 3 consequtive frosts then look for snow. Not had that yet...

CME has finally arrived. Geomagnetic storm should soon result. Mid-latitude auroras possible tonight!

spike in readings suggests rapid change in magnetic field, that rapid change causes #aurora

Prediction Center: Strong geomagnetic storm imminent with #CME arrival: http:/

    Evening all

    Once again Happy Birthday JP.

Spent the entire evening going through the kitchen cupboards sorting them out, cleaning and chucking old stuff, it needed doing (and still more to do, but thay can wait till another day).

Just nipped out and put the screen cover on the car as I suspect a likely frost by morning here, certainly feeling nippy out that is for sure.
