bring it on

 Braums are great.

Reed Timmer tweets he is doing a series for the BBC in 2014.

What's the title I wonder - 'Tornado Chasing - The Extreme Chase-off', in which a dozen inexperienced people compete to get the most outrageous footage ever without actually killing themselves.

If I had my way Neil you'd be director of the BBC and I'd get the popcorn in for that one..

looks like Iowa and Minnesota are the places to be today, to north obviously for our guys a MDT in place

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP BY MID AFTERNOON ACROSSSOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND WESTERN IOWA. VERY LARGE HAIL AND TORNADOESARE EXPECTED WITH THIS ACTIVITY. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...A FEWSEVERE...SHOULD ALSO DEVELOP SOUTH OF THIS REGION ACROSS EASTERNKANSAS AND MISSOURI...SOUTHWARD INTO THE HILL COUNTRY OFSOUTH-CENTRAL TEXAS. LARGE HAIL IS THE PRIMARY SEVERE THREAT WITHTHIS CONVECTION

I might be looking at bit further North for cells around Soiux City. EHI and moisture seem sufficient just across the border in SW MN to cause some interest.

Surface obs puts the WF along the Iowa/MN line, with decent moisture just to the south of it.If cells can meander into the core of the moisture, with overriding increasing LLJ, then a few tornados are likely.Spencer, Iowa for me.

Is there a decent alternative to the ChaserTV (which used to be good).

There is no indication of risk areas(I can see no menu which allows different layers any more).

It seems most of the chasers have abandoned ChaserTv as a medium- I am not suprised in its present format.

Googling storm chase live stream will definitely find sites that are streaming the severe weather currently in the US. One in particular I use but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, I don't want to step on anyone's toes so to speak :)
