I live at chiswell and I can tell you it's been one crazy night here !

I was out when the siren sounded as I'd been viewing the monster waves from a safe view point .

They were the biggest waves I've ever seen easily 30 ft some larger .

The beach road is closed and flooded a number of houses have also flooded .

We are all being told to stay upstairs and basically hope for the best !

Quite an experience and one I will never forget , having to look up at waves because they were so high was crazy !

Walls of water x

Got woken up by the heaviest rain I've ever heard at about 4am, to look at the radar and see the smallest shower ever. Felt like the roof was going to cave in

Got woken up and jumped out of my skin by hail this morning! Then the room lit up a few times with lightning, then a massive rumble of thunder and the lights going on and off! That's one way to get out of bed!

Just drove through absolutely atrocious conditions into Bristol. Rain was so bad the fastest setting on my wipers wasn't good enough.Take care for those it still has to reach. Flash surface flooding in many areas.

After this clump of heavy downpours over Glous, Bristol & Somerset as cleared through eastwards it looks a little drier on the radar.

A decline in shower activity as the day progresses is likely today.

Well that was a bit disappointing compared to what was showing on the radar further west into Cornwall. Only saw a few distant flashes with nothing near by, Meanwhile it kicks off the other side of me instead..

Just as I finish typing this a flash and a rumble! lol

Good.

Got soaked on the short walk from the bus to the office. Sat here with damp trousers!

Who needs an alarm clock with weather like that. Windows rattling with the thunder claps this morning.

3 overnight thunderstorms. Last one just clearing through. Intense rain. Hope we are in the edge of a drier interlude as Axe Valley floodplain is covered and water nowhere to go now, so flooding a real possibility.

Fairly heavy rain, and I'm sure I heard a rumble of thunder between 6.30 & 7 this morning.

Looks like it's clearing away East

A very high squally wind with heavy rain here a minute ago. It went as very dark, but no L and T as yet.
