hi sussex

i do not think anyone thought that

the threat tonight is the high tides still around midnight

then tomorrow heavy rain

then sunday night

monday and tuesday

i would have thought all should still watch the warnings until this horrible weather gives up

i am hoping the 120 fax tonight gives us some dryer conditions to look forward to

has got really gusty here again now as well

The storm at the moment is skirting the channel so no rain here at the moment in fact looking straight up can see the stars. Half tempted to drive up to Beachy Head again and watch them. Who would have thought it storm chasing in January, now if only this was snow coming down!!!!!!

The wind is starting to pick up again here now. Strongest gust in my locality earlier today was 51mph at Heathrow, and coincided with a thunderstorm in the vicinity. Wild weather indeed.

Is that the stratospheric warming thing which drains the heat out, or have I got totally the wrong end of the stick (as usual - also confirmed by the dogs who wanted to continue their walk even when the heavens were about to open, again)?

Echoing a post from earlier - how's Sunday afternoon/evening shaping-up?  We're due to visit friends, but the main road runs through dense woods and we don't fancy risking coming back at about 8 p.m. if there are going to be high winds.

sunday

Posted Image

a weaker south westerly but may increas again later in the day

rainfall

Posted Image

dry for a bulk of the day

however later

Posted Image

back to heavy rain overnight and gusty south west winds

i would have thought around 8pm winds will be around 40 plus mph

and rain will just about have started

best to wait for tomorrow before deciding as timing may be amended in tomorrow evenings runs

around 6pm

hope that helps
