that was an insane rumble of thunder... people on my Facebook.. Eastbourne and Brighton reporting "did you just feel your house shake" lol

 

Wow it's just like the old days! Pitch black (like night) howling wind gusts and thunder rattling around 360 degrees. Reminds me of a scene from a spooky movie

notice that front has been added again

 

also you have high tide between 12-1am

 

with that wind direction like that i would keep your eye on this

Just been caught out in ths squall in Brighton. Was walking through the marina and it was insanely windy with piercing hail. Large group of photographers all rancor cover.

You should get up on the top floor of the car park, great view of the coast/pier from there :-) !

It's gone incredibly dark again and I'd say the gust I've just experienced is the longest gust of 2013/2014. Relentless and still going but not so strong. At is strongest point I was hoping it'd ease!

......we had a few rumbles here earlier but think that was because I forgot lunch 

 

was a lovely rainbow after one band of rain - I didn't manage to capture it as I was busy working at the time but my friend 'H' took a photo from her window...

Wow awesome thunder and lightning with hail. Absolutely belting it down and dog going mad so more thunder I think. Met up with Coast down at Eastbourne seafront was some pretty big waves will post some pics later. Afterwards went for a drive over to Beachy Head and Birling Gap standing at the top of the steps there was dreadful could hardly stand up took some more pics there but wind was gusting so hard was worried about phone being blown out of my hand.

well that was first back in the office this year, and was counting the minutes to home time when design request comes in, ended up late leaving.

 

Been a strange day here, sunny the cloudy then sunny then wet, feels a lot colder and breezy out than when I left this morning.

Hi John. This seems to be a fast moving event and alterations are coming with every model run and update. I can't keep pace at the moment but after today's little lot, I'm fairly sure some more significant weather is on it's way. GFS coming through now:

 

 

 

 

Any sequence you run it's relentless through to Tuesday and continuous rain, sustained winds, high gusts, thunder. lightning and hail are still all on the cards. Be careful what you wish for, as snow might eventually come as a respite later in the season!

Well what a day.  Home from the funeral in Enfield and I must say it was horrendous.  Came out of the church to hailstones which hurt, a wind that nearly blew me over and watched the burial in the middle of a thunderstorm. All I can say, is I've had better days.

Looking at those charts that Surrey and Coast put up I fear for some parts round here. Cuckmere had already broken it's banks around Alfriston and a few of the lanes were pretty flooded.

What a stonker of a thunderstorm that was: purple C-Gs, shotgun thunder, big hail tat's still lying; better than of last summer's efforts put together!
