That stuff in the channel may have some wind in front of it, cause wind is picking up now, the only change is those showers are getting closer.

Come over very dark here, raining and some strong gusts of wind.  I really hope for some hail and thunder thrown into the mix!

Can't recall seeing a storm like that crossing land in early Jan. Surely for some that looks as if it has given some more impressive scenes than your average summer storm! Amazing. This is justice for the dire convection throughout 2013.

Off to MK now anyway, see you all later and I hope I might see some more action!

Sounds like the Hail storm has caused a nine vehicle pile-up on the A41 near Hemel.

Another truly diabolical day ! Never known the weather to be so awful for so long ! Fencing all needs replacing but can't find a window of opportunity in the next week to sort it all out ,wind & rain just keeps coming grrrrr . On a better note two has me forecast for some white stuff on the 18 th jan woop woop ,can't wait ! Anything apart from howling damaging wind & relentless rain will be so welcome . I hope everyone is ok & being careful on another rotten day ! Best wishes to those who are being severely affected by Mother Nature . Hopefully respite will be coming soon & the clear up can begin x

there seemed to be 2 sizes of hail - marble and pea - the maddest hailstorm I've ever seen in the UK - must have been terrifying if driving a car
