Roger J Smith called it.

Yeah and he called for widespread 105mp/h gusts across NI in that storm two weeks ago. If you look through his posts I'm sure you'll find it

Wild here again now in Ainsdale, right on the NW coast after a lull - very gusty, wind roaring, lots of alarms going off. Something just hit my bedroom window, not a roof tile! Sounded like plastic - piece of guttering maybe? 3 momentary losses of power through the night - fed up of re- setting clock.

The most severe storm for Ireland in 20 years. Stay safe

Huh? Highest gust recorded Sherkin Island 133km? Last two storms this December higher gusts were recorded Mace Head. Boxing day storm 26/12/98.

Storm kyrill 2007 149km recorded in Dublin? Hurricane force sustained winds recorded at Malin Head two years ago with over 170km gusts to name a few. You couldn't be more wrong if you tried

Some savage gusts around here now. Just had a raw from the trees, I've never heard anything like that before.

Would that be the centre of the low? Assume would be pretty calm there.

Aberdaron overnight, 109mph!

Very high gust for such a low elevation (94m), though being right on the tip of a Peninsula jutting out into the Irish Sea, I guess it's rather exposed.

Centre of low passing south of Outer Hebrides around 944mb and expected by models to slowly fill as it crosses Scotland.

Well still very strong winds here, trees bending. Supposed to be playing golf today at the Warren Wallesey-I don't think so!!

As predicted I barely got a wink of sleep overnight, with exception to the lull in gusts between 2am and 4am. After that it was back to the usual window creaking and the roof making unnerving noises. Surprisingly enough there's very little in terms of damage outside..infact nothing discernible by eye looking outside this early am.

Still very windy in west Ireland (Mayo). Large trees actually bending — not something I see at home in Ludlow!
