The wind has suddenly picked up in the last 10 mins, with some strong gusts (sorry, not able to have a weather station here, so no details) enough to blow a few heavy pots over, so a fair breeze!

Take care all!

Haven't been on all day but got quite excited when I couldn't access site - thought it had crashed cos we'd had some "boom" run or something, lol!! Wishful thinking!

Winds picking up out there....I'm 10min from Leatherhead flooding and had my own flood in garden so could really do without any further rain this way!!!xx

40mph already at 22:00 tonight at heHeathrow.. When was that ment to happen!! Really gusty out there!!! Models under predicted maybe?

The energy levels are quite high at present and the MetO's super computer would not have picked up the sudden change in time. In layman terms, it's just like adding loads of petrol to a bonfire = stronger gusts than what is being predicted by the MetO.

Here we go again ! I've just lost another fence panel ! Really gusty here & tipping it down . I feel so sorry for all the people who have yet to recover from the last lot & the awful Christmas they didn't have . Stay safe everyone & best wishes to all those are being affected yet again xx

Beautiful blue sky afternoon for Boxing Day dog walk. As others have noted, wind started making that familiar banging noise around the house in the past hour or so. Keeping it all crossed our flight leaves Heathrow OK tomorrow lunch time. In the meantime I need some sleep but as those gusts keep hitting to be followed by the rain later, it seems it could be an unsettled night ahead. Just as well we haven't fixed all the fence panels that went over a few days ago if the winds are going to be high again, right pain to sort out though for the non-fine-motor skilled!

Good luck with the flooding, fingers, toes and eyes crossed that the ppn isn't too heavy! (Plus good luck to anyone either already suffering, or threatened with any flooding)
